The fine print, written to actually be read.
Five short documents that cover how buying from Kalpanika works, what we do with your data, and what to do if something goes wrong.
Terms & Conditions
Last updated 1 November 2026
1. Who we are
This website, kalpanika.in (the "Site"), is owned and operated by Kalpanika Design Studio ("Kalpanika", "we", "us", "our"), a design and 3D-printing studio based at Chamrajpet, Bengaluru 560018, registered under GSTIN 29ABCDE1234F1Z5. "Kalpanika™" is a trademark of Kalpanika Design Studio. By browsing the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the Site.
2. Products, customisation and accuracy
Every object here is 3D-printed, most of it to order. We describe colours, dimensions and finishes as accurately as we can, but printed plastic is not glass: small variations in colour, layer texture, and dimensions of a millimetre or two between units are normal and are not defects. Screen colours vary between devices too. Where you upload your own file or configure a part in one of our studios (a keychain, a nameplate, a sign, a wallet and so on), the preview is a close approximation of the finished object, not a guarantee of pixel-perfect accuracy.
PLA and PETG, the two materials we print in, are not intended for prolonged outdoor exposure, contact with high heat, or as load-bearing structural parts, unless the product listing says otherwise. Use printed objects sensibly.
3. Files you upload, and things you ask us to print
When you upload a model on our Custom 3D Print page, or enter text, names or artwork into a personalisation studio, you confirm that:
- you own the design, or have the right to have it reproduced and printed;
- it doesn't infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights; and
- it isn't unlawful, unsafe, hateful, or a copy of a weapon, a restricted or age-gated object, or another manufacturer's protected design.
We may decline to print anything that appears to break the above, without owing you an explanation of exactly why. We don't claim ownership of what you upload; we use it solely to produce your order, and keep a copy only for reprints, support, and the order history in your account, for as long as your account or the underlying order record exists.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices on the Site are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. For a custom or personalised quote, the price shown at checkout — including the setup, handling and shipping component — is the price charged; it can change if you change the file, material, size, quantity or configuration afterwards. We accept UPI, major debit and credit cards, net banking, common wallets, and cash on delivery on eligible orders (COD is not available on personalised or custom-print orders, and carries a handling fee where offered). We may correct an order that was priced incorrectly due to a technical error before it enters production, and will contact you if that happens.
5. Order acceptance, production and cancellation
An order is confirmed once payment is received; it is accepted by us once it enters production. Because personalised and custom items are made specifically for you, we begin cutting material and machine time aside almost immediately — see Cancellation & Refunds below for the exact cut-off. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order — for a pricing error, a suspected fraudulent payment, a file we can't or won't print, or a genuine capacity issue — and will refund it in full if we do.
6. Intellectual property
Everything on the Site that isn't something you uploaded — the Kalpanika name and logo, our own catalogue designs, photography, written content, and the site's code — belongs to Kalpanika Design Studio or its licensors, and is protected under Indian and international copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, resell, or 3D-print our own catalogue designs for commercial resale without our written permission.
7. Limitation of liability
We take reasonable care in production and packaging, but to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of a printed object or the Site. Our total liability for any single order is capped at the amount you paid for that order. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from your use of the Site or an order placed on it, without prejudice to any right you have to approach a consumer forum local to you under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
9. Grievance redressal
In accordance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, the details of our Grievance Officer are below. We acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data Kalpanika Design Studio collects through kalpanika.in, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to be consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the IT Act, 2000.
1. What we collect
- Contact and account details — name, email, phone number, and shipping / billing address, when you check out, create an account, or contact us.
- Order details — what you bought or configured, any text, names or artwork you entered into a personalisation studio, and any file you uploaded for a custom print.
- Payment information — handled entirely by our payment gateway and banking partners. We never see or store your full card, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials.
- Device and usage information — standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) generated automatically by visiting the Site.
- What your browser remembers locally — see the Cookie Policy below; this data stays on your device and isn't information we collect on our servers.
2. Why we collect it
- to take, produce, invoice (including GST-compliant invoicing), ship and support your order;
- to run your account, order history, and saved designs, if you create one;
- to respond when you contact us, or write in about a specific order;
- to send you the newsletter, only if you subscribe to it, with an unsubscribe link on every email; and
- to keep the Site secure and to meet our own legal and tax obligations.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles.
3. Who we share it with
Only who needs it to get your order to you: our courier / logistics partners (name, address and phone number, to deliver the package), our payment gateway (to process payment), and, where the law requires it, tax and regulatory authorities. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
4. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as applicable tax and consumer-protection law requires (typically several years). Account data is kept while your account is active; you can ask us to delete it, subject to what we're legally required to retain.
5. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or erase it, and you can withdraw any consent you've given (for the newsletter, for instance) at any time. Write to studio@kalpanika.in and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're unsatisfied with how we've handled a request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — encrypted connections, restricted internal access, and a payment gateway that is itself PCI-DSS compliant — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Where your data is processed
We currently ship within India only, and process data primarily in India, through service providers who may host infrastructure in India or elsewhere with equivalent safeguards.
9. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as the Site, or the law, changes. Material changes will be reflected in the date above.
Questions or requests about your data — write to studio@kalpanika.in, our Grievance Officer.
Shipping Policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
1. Where we ship
We currently ship within India only. We don't yet offer international shipping.
2. Processing time
In-stock catalogue items are typically prepared for dispatch within 48 hours. Made-to-order and personalised items are produced after payment, on the lead time shown at checkout for the material and quality you chose — most fall between 2 and 5 working days before they even ship, longer for large batch orders.
3. Shipping charges
Shipping is a flat ₹99 on orders under ₹799, and free on orders of ₹799 or more. An order made up entirely of custom or studio-configured prints ships free regardless of value, since the setup, handling and shipping component is already built into that price.
4. Delivery time
Once dispatched, standard delivery takes 3–5 working days in most serviceable locations, and longer in remote or low-connectivity areas. Total time to your door is production time plus transit time — you'll see both estimated at checkout.
5. Tracking
You'll get a shipping confirmation by email once your order leaves our workshop. You can check status any time on the order tracking page or from your account.
6. Delays
Courier network disruptions, weather, regional restrictions, or other events outside our control can delay a delivery beyond the estimate. We'll let you know if we're aware of a significant delay on your order.
7. Risk and an incorrect address
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address you provided. Please double-check your address at checkout — we're not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address, though we're happy to help you sort it out with the courier.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
1. Cancelling an order
You can cancel any order for a full refund free of charge as long as it hasn't yet entered production. Once a personalised or custom item starts printing, it can no longer be cancelled, since the material and machine time are already committed to your specific design — this is also why cash on delivery isn't offered on these orders. In-stock catalogue orders can be cancelled any time before they're dispatched.
2. Returning a catalogue (non-personalised) item
If you've bought an in-stock, non-personalised object and simply don't want it, you can return it within 7 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, provided it's unused, undamaged, and back with us in its original packaging. Return shipping for a change of mind is at your cost.
3. Personalised and custom prints
Because these are made specifically for you — with your name, your file, or your chosen configuration — they can't be returned simply because you changed your mind. We do stand behind the print itself: if what arrives is defective, damaged in transit, or doesn't match the specification you confirmed at checkout, we will reprint or refund it at no cost to you.
4. Reporting a problem
Please tell us within 48 hours of delivery, at studio@kalpanika.in with your order number and a photo or short video of the issue. We'll confirm a reprint, replacement, or refund once we've had a look.
5. Refunds
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of approval; your bank or payment provider may take a little longer to reflect it. A cash-on-delivery refund (where COD was used) is paid out by bank transfer or UPI to an account you confirm.
6. Exchanges
Where an exchange is agreed, it's for the same item, corrected — we don't offer like-for-unlike exchanges on personalised work.
