We make imagination tangible.
Kalpanika™ means the imagined thing — before it exists.
We started in 2025 with one printer in a spare room and a stubborn interest in a single question: what happens to design when making one of something costs almost the same as making a hundred?
The answer, it turned out, is that you stop designing for the warehouse. You can make an object because it's interesting rather than because it will sell ten thousand units. You can change the colour on a Tuesday. You can print six, see how they feel on a real desk, and throw five of them away.
So that's what Kalpanika is. Most of it is our own catalogue — objects we drew, printed, held, disliked, and drew again until they were worth selling. The rest is our printers, pointed at whatever you send us. Both sides matter equally, and the site is built so neither is buried behind the other.
How we work
Four things we're stubborn about.
Design first, printing second
We are a design studio that happens to own printers, not a print shop that happens to sell things. Every object starts as a drawing and a question, not as a machine looking for work.
Make only what is wanted
Nothing sits in a warehouse. Most of the catalogue is printed after you order it, which is slower for you and much better for everything else.
Say the boring truth
PLA softens in a hot car. Large parts cost more than people expect. Not every model is printable. We would rather tell you before you order than apologise afterwards.
Keep the layers visible
We don't sand our objects into pretending they were injection-moulded. The lines are the record of how the thing was made, and we design with them rather than against them.
